CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

 

Submission of abstracts of original scientific research are invited for presentation at the 2025 Annual Scientific Conference of the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Nigeria (HPCAN), Lagos Chapter. The conference will hold between 1st - 3rd July, 2025. The venue is Hall 36, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Lagos, Nigeria.

Theme: LIVED EXPERIENCE: REDEFINING CARE BEYOND DIAGNOSIS GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Abstract submission is open from till Friday 13th June, 2025.

Submissions received after the deadline will not be processed.

All abstracts must be submitted online via the conference website accessible at https://hpcanconferencelagos.com.ng

To submit an abstract, you must first register as a participant for the conference. Follow the steps below to register & Submit your abstract:

  1. Visit the conference website at https://hpcanconferencelagos.com.ng & Click on registration
  2. Click on register now
  3. Fill the displayed form and click on register.
  4. An email will be sent to the email address you registered with. This email will contain a confirmation link.
  5. Access you email box and open this email sent above, click on the confirmation link to complete your registration
  6. Once your registration has been confirmed, you may then return to the conference website and click on submit an abstract. You will be asked for your email and password which you entered at registration.
  7. Fill the abstract submission form and click submit. You can repeat steps 6 & 7 for as many abstracts as you would like to submit.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

The official language of communication during the conference is English

The submitting author shall receive correspondence from the scientific committee on behalf of other authors (including the presenter) via the supplied email address provided during registraion. In the matter of abstracts, the decision of the scientific committee is final

THERE WOULD BE AWARDS FOR THE BEST ORAL AND BEST POSTER PRESENTATION AFTER THE CONFERENCE

The following information must be provided when you submit an abstract

  1. A Title (not more than 125 characters) must be provided.
  2. The preferred presentation format (Oral or Poster) must be provided.
  3. Category of abstract (see below) must be selected
  4. Name and affiliation (department, faculty and institution) of all authors must be provided
  5. The presenter must be selected among the authors provided
  6. The designation of the presenter (Faculty member, Consultant, Resident Doctor, Student etc) must be provided

The acceptable format is as follows for articles:

  1. Background/Objectives
  2. Materials and Methods
  3. Results
  4. Conclusions
  5. Keywords (maximum of 5)
Acceptable format for case report is as follows:
  1. Background
  2. Case report
  3. Conclusions
  4. Keywords (maximum of 5)

Abstracts must include data with clear descriptions of results and conclusions. For example, p values without data are not sufficient.

Each abstract should be a maximum of 250 words

All work must be original and should not have been published previously.
